Lets be honest people the delux Beast Machines
Optimus Primal toy sucks ass.

I felt the transformation scheme was clever but it looked
like someone dumped a vat of acid on some poor monkey.

This was going to be an extensive job.  For starters
I cut off the lower jaw of the beast head and
painted an entirely new face on it.

Next I took apart the throwing arm and removed the spring
vital to the action to add posabillity to the arm.

After that I created shoulder pads

To make these I broke plastic eating impliments and 
glued them together to make a fram.  Next
these were wrapped in alluminum foild.

I then coated it with a layer of gold glitter paint.

Once that dried I covered it all in epoxy which actually
provides the sturdy support of the shoulder pads.  I 
screwed them into the robot's shoulders.  These
can fold down over the legs in beast mode and add some much
needed bulk. 

Then the repainting started.  I completely covered all
the translucent plastic save a little on the arm for
effect.  The rest was mostly brown to make a more realistic
gorilla.  After that I added some detail to make it have it's
techno organic look and make it a little more Prime like while I 
was at it.

Most of the weapons are made with a little epoxy and borrowed and
cut up weapons from old X men toys and power rangers.

I also converted his energy projectile into a battle axe
by painting it a little and cutting some points off.
Unfortunately I couldn't locate it for the photo shoot.

However I think the prime saber more than makes up for it.

His tripple barrel gun can be held by either beast or robot mode
or mounted on the beast shoulder.  all weapons can be stored 
on the robot's backpack which was already part of the toy.
