Nightscream Kitbash Why did I make this? When I made this there was not existing toy of nightscream and when one was eventually made it was too big. What materials did I use. Lots of epoxy and lots of paint. and one twistie tie that is so plentiful in transformer pachaging. I started with a transmetal 2 basic size sonar. I realized that it looked enough like nightscream so I set to work on it. First I remolded the robot head using epoxy. I made the largh eyes for which nightscream is known and cut off the bat ears and attached them to his back so they would still line up with the bat head in beast mode. I next removed the bat feet from the robot chest and epoxied them to the back of the robot feat to give the bat more dexterity in beast mode. I kept the upper arms in the chest to brace the waist in robot mode. On the inside of the backplate I epoxied one twistie tie which can be wound up and stored and then pulled out to act as a vampire action. I next worked on the bat head. I used epoxy once more to bond a nail to the bat's jaw and give him his characteristic horn in bat mode. the last step of the epoxying process was to bond the wings to the arms and then cut them off of the main body so the robot mode would have bat wings on its arms. This differs from the winged feet of the TV show version but it does stay true with the larger toy version. After all the epoxy had dried I applied several coats of paint to remove the grey look of the toy and make him look more organic. A special note ont this toy. after the paint chipped many times around the joints and all manner of gloss failed to protect it I mixed a batch of epoxy and coated the entire thing. Now the paint job is presserved under a millimeter of clear plastic and will never wear.
