The Guylos empire's Metal Rhimos, a basic armor upgrade
over the Black Rhimos was in its day a powerful heavy assault
zoid.  But with the advent of the Dark Horn and later
the Iron Kong, the Rhimos platform was becoming outdated.
Despite most of the Black Rhimos being upgraded into 
Metal Rhimos they spent most of their time gathering
dust in storage or occupying backwoods positions of
little millitary value.

However after the end of the Helic/Guylos war and the
formation of the Guardian force, the Guylos Empire
began to reexamine its zoid stocks, and with heavy
weapons technology provided by the New-Helic Republic
a mass upgrade project began.

With villainous groups bent on restarting the war
both Helic and Guylos were quick to share their
technology to protect the peace.  

Inspired by the Republic's Command Wolf AC, Guylos
engineers borrowed designs for the Attack Unit 
AZ 250mm cannons and modified them to fit the 
rhimos platform.

THe general purpose missiles were also relocated
to a less restricted position on the sides while
a seven shot surface to surface missile launcher was added
and the republic's tri heavy missile wrack complimenting
it.  

Guylos engineers finding the rhimos platform amazingly
still having the capacity to carry more weight modifications
continued to round out the arsenal.  Borrowing technology
from the old but reliable zaber fang.  The shoulders
of the rhimos were equipped with a pair of tri
rocket launchers, while the rear is now protected by
a reliable pair fo 30mm laser cannons.

The added weight does decreas the speed of the new
rhimos dubbed "Iron Rhimos" to a degree but not
debillitatingly so.  The Iron Rhims was brought out of 
retirement and generally employed as a defensive zoid,
guarding the advanced technology within Guylos
research facillities, which were often a target
of renegade forces seeking to build their own
army at the empire's expense.
