Command Tortoise

The Cannon Tortoise has long been a source of heavy
support fire for the Helic republic, and with the
advancement of technology Helic engineers weren't
about to let this walking weapon be left behind.

Based around an additional armor shell which integrates
with the cannon tortoise's rear cargo bay, the Command
Unit provides, offensive, defensive, and tactical
upgrades.

The Command Tortoise's most obvious feature is
the large multisensor dish feeding numerous sources
of information to a command center inside the
retrofitted cargo bay.  In addition it provides
two long range heavy AZ300mm laser cannons.

These tremendously powerful laser cannons are similar
in design to the Twin Beam Cannons available for the
shield liger but equipped with cooling coils
to prevent overheating.

On the sides further to the rear are two long range
tactical missile silos.  These missiles are 
basicly the Iron Kong's ballistic missiles but fitted
with larger thrusters to attack at longer ranges.

Of course this has a drawback in that the cannon tortoise's
weight is increased by nearly half.  Obviously
this drasticly cuts the already lacking speed of the
tortoise making it almost fixed artillary.  Thus
the name Command Tortoise is fitting for a zoid
best suited to stay in the rear, taking in information
and sending out long ranged attacks.

The Command Tortoise model due to its drawbacks was
never fully employed for front line combat, but
has been seen from time to time employed by commanding
officers who happen to preffer the Tortoise Platform.
